National Aquarium Commits to Achieving Net-Zero Greenhouse Emissions by 2035

The National Aquarium is committing to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2035. The 13-year initiative will tackle the urgent issue of global climate change. In line with the Aquarium’s Conservation Action Plan, which includes efforts to combat climate change, there is an extensive action plan to achieve this goal. Internally, the nonprofit will increase energy conservation measures, invest in renewable energy, electrify its fleet and infrastructure, and take advantage of emerging technologies to increase use of its on-site renewable energy—including on-site solar power.
