FuelCell Energy, a global fuel cell energy plant manufacturer and operator, released its first Sustainability report this week and therein reaffirmed the company’s Net Zero 2030 commitment. Although costly, fuel cell power generation and storage technology is an alternative to traditional combustion-based power generation. The company headquarters is in Danbury Connecticut but their power plants are located in over 50 countries globally. The company is also engaged in a project involving carbon capture and sequestering for ExxonMobil.
The FuelCell Energy Sustainability Report released this past week reaffirms the Company’s commitment to decarbonization and clean energy. It also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining diverse and global Board of Directors. Regarding the environmental aspect, the report announced the company’s commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030 on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and also details the efforts and initiatives being undertaken to achieve the this lofty target within the next 8 years.
